A price program is a collection of price exceptions. Once a price program has been completed, it can be assigned to a customer or a customer maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. Visually a mask is represented by a series of forward slash marks (///), sometimes with a letter, letters, or number preceding it (1/////// or AB////). For example, if you enter AB//// this indicates that you want to list all customer defined in the system whose names begin with AB.. Using Price Programs, users can apply groups of price exceptions to a customer or group of customers without having to specify multiple price exceptions against that customer or customer group.
When you first enter the Price Programs option a Select An Option window will display the following options.
Select EXIT to return to the Sales menu.
1. A Customer field will display. Enter the customer ID code or customer maskA mask is used to conduct a wild card search. For example, if you enter AB//// this indicates that you want to list all customer defined in the system whose names begin with AB. to assign, find, review, or delete existing price exceptions or price programs.
Or, enter "//////" to bring up a Select A Price Class window where you can select a price class by scrolling down the list of price classes and pressing Enter.
2. If you entered a customer ID code, customer mask, or "//////" for the customer and selected a price class that has existing price exceptions and/or price programs, a Customer Pricing Program table will appear and will list the following for existing price exceptions and price program items for the customer, customer mask, or price class.
The price exceptions may be deleted by scrolling to the price exception and pressing Enter or, press F9 to tag all price exceptions for deletion. An asterisk (*) will appear confirming your selection. Press F10 to delete the price exceptions. You may also press F10 to exit the Customer Pricing Program window without selecting/deleting any price exceptions by pressing F10.
3. If previously defined price programs do not exist for the customer, proceed to Step #4. If previously defined price programs do exist in the system, a Select A Price Program window will display the following options:

Select a price exception to modify the price exception that appears on the price program. Command options will appear:

After you have added a price exception or changed or deleted an existing price exception you will return to the Select A Price Exception window will appear. When you are finished adding/changing/deleting price select EXIT.
Note: If you attempt to exit this window and duplicate fixed price exceptions exist in the system, the following message will display: "Resolve duplicate fixed pricing exceptions!!! F10 to continue."
Command options will appear:
Select Update Exceptions.
Important: Your changes will not be saved unless you select Update.
You will be returned to the customer field.
Selecting PRICE PROGRAM will allow you to add a new price program, print a list of price programs, or modify an existing price program.
1. Select PRICE PROGRAM from the Select An Option window.
2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:
Select ADD.
3. Enter a reference number for the price program in the Program ID field.
4. At the Like Another (Y/N) field, enter Y (Y=yes) to use an existing price program as a model for a new price program or enter N (N=no) if you do not want to use an existing price program as a model for a new price program.
If you are creating a price program from an existing price program
If you enter Y (Y=yes) a Select An Option window will display with the following options:
Scroll to the price program you would like to use as a model for the new price program and press Enter. The name of the price program selected will appear in the Program Name field. Press Enter to accept the program name or make the appropriate changes and press Enter to continue.
A Select A Price Exception window will appear with the following options:
Select a price exception to modify the price exception that appears on the price program. Command options will appear:
Use the appropriate command options to add, change, or delete a pricing exception for the price program and press Enter when finished. The Select A Price Exception window will appear; select EXIT.
Command options will appear:
Select Update.
Important: Your changes will not be saved unless you select Update.
If you are creating a price program from scratch
Selecting PRICE PROGRAM will allow you to add a new price program, print a list of price programs, or work with an existing price program.
1. Select PRICE PROGRAM from the Select An Option window.
2. A Select An Option window will appear with the following options:
Select ADD.
3. Enter a reference number for the price program in the Program ID field.
4. At the Like Another (Y/N) field, enter N (N=no) to create a price program from scratch.
5. Enter a name for the price program in the Program Name field.
6. A Select A Price Exception window will appear with the following options:
Scroll to ADD PRICING EXCEPTIONS and press Enter to select. Add the price exception for the new price program. See Adding Price Exceptions for more information.
Once the price exception has been added you will return to the Select A Price Exception window and select ADD PRICING EXCEPTION to add one or more price exceptions to the price program, if necessary.
If you are finished adding price exceptions to the price program, select EXIT from the Select A Price Exception window and pressing Enter.
Command options will appear:
